ALL MY RELATIONS TOURNAMENT

The All My Relations 4th Annual Basketball Tournament kicks off May 6th - 8th, 2022 at Britannia Secondary in Vancouver. This tournament is made possible in partnership with the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Basketball Foundation, Local, ISPARC, SFU, Britannia Community Services Centre, Parks Board to Vancouver, SisterSage, Jump Start, and The Physio Shop. A list of teams, rules, and COVID protocols are below.

The AMR Tournament is full of six women's, eight men's and two Junior All Native basketball teams that are mentored by the AMR Team; that's 220 athletes attending from all over Turtle Island!

There will also be a youth basketball clinic available, run by All My Relations players. The objective is to coach, mentor, build community all year round with the power of sport and Indigenous world views.

This event will be taking place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded homelands of the Musqueam, Squamish & Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

TOURNAMENT
RULES

  • Double elimination in women and men’s divisions 

  • 5 on 5 format: Team consists of a maximum of 10 players per team 

  • All Native plus ONE open player 

  • A player must have played in a game prior to the finals to be able to compete

  • Two twenty-minute halves played of running time and five minutes half time 

  • 1 timeout per half

  • In case of a tie game there will be 5 minutes overtime with one extra time out per team

  • Bonus at 10 team fouls (ref change)

  • If teams are within 10 points at two minutes, stop time for remainder of the game

  • Mercy Rule: When a team is 30 points ahead of the opposing team with 5 minutes left of the second half of the game, the referee(s) have the option to end the game

  • Two courts for all games and finals will be played on main court

  • If a player received two technical fouls during a single game they will be ejected from the tournament

  • All jewellery must be removed before playing a game

  • All decisions made by the referees are final

COVID
PROTOCOLS

  • All players must be double vaccinated and have filled in the online google form to be eligible to play in a game 

  • All players must show ID proof and check in when entering the gym before playing each game  

  • Spectators must show proof of double vaccination, wear masks at all times, and stay up in the bleacher section 

  • Only players on the gym floor are allowed
